ALL STRUCTURES AND CONDITIONS
ARE UNIQUE
AND THE WATERPROOFING SOLUTIONS
SHOULD ALWAYS BE DESIGNED FROM THE GROUND UP
ALL WATERPROOFING PROCESSES
ARE PRACTICALLY THE SAME
AND SHOULD BE MANAGED THE SAME WAY
EVERY TIME
- AND THAT IS WHAT WPQC IS A TOOL FOR:
MANAGING STRUCTURAL WATERPROOFING PROCESSES

If you want to learn more about WATERPROOFING SPECIFICATION,
and AVOIDING UNFAIR LIABILITIES
then we have some insight to share

So, You have a Project that includes Structural Waterproofing.
May we suggest a MINDSET :

QUALIFICATIONS

If you don't understand the Structure, the Building Materials, and the Construction Process
from a Waterproofing point of view
- then you are already "behind schedule" before you even start the Project

Understanding Structural Waterproofing is about SO much more than "Waterproofing Products"
(Waterproofing Products shall SERVE the independently designed solution, not DICTATE it)
In fact, choosing products is one of the last things to do in the process
- and by the way -
working with PRODUCT TYPES is the smart and modern approach.
The Missing Link when it comes to Structural Waterproofing:
QUALIFICATIONS !

1. OUTLINE

"If you don't know where you're going,
any road will take you there."
The Cheshire Cat
Knowing the Challenges, the Objectives, the Process, the KPI's, the Potential Pitfalls, and more is vital to your Project
The OUTLINE part is "the most skipped" subject of most Waterproofing Processes
A good OUTLINE will aim at decreased COMPLEXITY and increased FOCUS as the process moves along!

2. STRUCTURE

So, you have your QUALIFICATIONS secured, and you have OUTLINED the Project.
Next Step is to DESIGN THE STRUCTURE FOR WATERPROOFING
- and at this point it's good to know "Rule #1 of all Structural Waterproofing"

3. SOLUTIONS

You have your QUALIFICATIONS secured, you have OUTLINED the Project, and you have DESIGNED your Structure for Waterproofing.
Next Step is to DESIGN the Waterproofing. We suggest that you:
- Base your work on LOGIC
- Put 90% of Your Effort on the DETAILS
- Choose the Waterproofing products as the penultimate step in the process
- and most of all: ALWAYS DESIGN THE WATERPROOFING SOLUTIONS FROM THE GROUND UP
... it's such a small investment compared to the cost of failed waterproofing

4. EXECUTION

QUALIFICATIONS are secured, the Project OUTLINED, the Structure is DESIGNED for Waterproofing, and you have Designed the SOLUTIONS to fit the conditions 1:1
and now comes the Moment of Truth: THE EXECUTION
What you exactly need to do at this stage will Depend on the Nature of the Project,
but we strongly recommend the following for all projects:
- Constantly adjust your Solutions to the 1:1 Conditions, and be one step ahead (to stay clear of Surprises)
- Make sure that the Labor is sufficiently Qualified
- React to all Doubts and Questions (almost all failed Waterproofing started with a little unattended Question or Doubt)
At first glance the conditions appear to be perfect for waterproofing - but one thing is wrong, and the waterproofing crew has to stop the work.
This "thing" could easily have been prevented had the right set of skills been "onboard" the project.

5. FEED-BACK

The only thing dumber than making a Waterproofing mistake is: NOT LEARNING from it.
In reality, there aren't that many reasons for failed waterproofing - they just get REPEATED a lot!
That is why we urge everybody to COLLECT THEIR EXPERIENCES and SHARE them
www.WaterproofingPILOT.com
is a global platform
where experiences and ideas are shared
- so that the waterproofing mistake made in Melbourne Yesterday,
will benefit someone in Stockholm Tomorrow
